Mental health problems are very common. so it is important to be aware of possible signs. Feeling worried, guilty, depresssed, worthless or feeling an exaggerated. Also changes in sleep, weight or personal hygiene may hint as a mental health issue.

What are the signs of mental health issues?

Here are some signs:

Feeling anxious or worried:

Anxiety could be sign of mental health disorder if the worry is constant and interfere with your daily activities.

Physical symptoms of anxiety include shortness of breath, headache, sweating and trembling.

Feeling depressed or unhappy:

Feeling depressed may include feeling sad, irritable, lacking in motivation or being teary all the time. It may include losing interest in a hobby or not enjoying things.

Sleep problems:

Changes to a persons sleep pattern could be a symptom of a mental health disorder. This could include insomnia or too much sleeping.

Weight or appetite changes:

For some people eating more or less than usual. Rapid weight loss or weight gain could be a sign of mental health disorder.

Being more quiet or withdrawn than usual:

Withdrawing from life, if this is a major change from your personality this could indicate mental health disorder. If anyone around you is isolating themseleves, they may need a help.

Feeling guilty or worthless:

Thoughts like i am worthless or i am a failure are signs of mental health disorder. It feels like you are worthless, and you criticise or blame for everything to yourself.

Depression:

Depressive order is also known as depression. It involves a depressed mood or loss of pleasure or interest in activities. Depression is different from regular mood changes and feelings about everyday life.

  • Family history it can be in genes
  • Illness or health issues
  • Medication, drugs or alcohol addict
  • Personality

What are symptoms of depression:

  • Feeling very sad, worried or helpless
  • Not enjoying things that used to be enjoy
  • Being easily irritated or frustrated
  • Eating too little or too much
  • Trouble sleeping having insomnia
  • Too much sleeping having hypersomnia
  • Low energy or fatigue
  • Having thoughts of suicide or self-harm

Things you can do at home to reduce depression:

  • Getting quality sleep
  • Eating a healthy diet
  • Getting regular exercise
  • Avoid drugs
  • Spend time with people you care about

What is clinical depression:

Clinical depression is the more-severe form of depression, also known as major depression or major depressive disorder. It isn’t the same as depression caused by a loss, such as the death of a loved one, or a medical condition, such as a thyroid disorder.

Signs and symptoms of clinical depression may include:

  • Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness
  • Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports
  • Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much
  • Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort
  • Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide
  • Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches
